About the Summit
The distinguished global event, Composers Summit Prague, extends a gracious welcome to the most eminent Hollywood composers specializing in film scores, television series, and other orchestral compositions, including contributions from the gaming industry. This exclusive gathering takes place in Prague.
The inception of the Summit stems from a dedicated commitment to educating professionals and enthusiasts within the realm of audiovisual arts. It serves as a unique platform, facilitating meaningful interactions between novices and experts. Over the course of several days, participants engage in the creation of novel musical works, draw inspiration from one another, share extensive professional insights, and cultivate valuable collaborative relationships.
The summit's agenda comprises masterclass sessions conducted by distinguished Hollywood composers, complemented by a multitude of ancillary events such as public discussions, competitions, and lectures. The pinnacle of the event culminates in thematic concerts presented by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra (ČNSO) for a broad audience, personally directed by globally acclai- med composers. The program also features a dedicated segment addressing music in gaming and explores contemporary trends in recording studio equipment.
All editions have been held under the auspices of the Minister of Culture Martin Baxa, and this year the auspices were also granted by the Minister of Industry and Trade Jozef Síkela and the Deputy Mayor of the Capital City of Prague Jiří Pospíšil.
Objectives
The aim of the Composers Summit Prague is to be one of the most prestigious events for audiovisual music composers in Europe and worldwide. We aim to provide opportunities for personal connection, networking, friendship, creative and business collaboration, as well as a unique opportunity to introduce talented composers to important industry stakeholders.
The edition focuses on a wide spectrum of music in audiovisuals, particularly on gaming music, new technologies in music composition and recording in the audiovisual domain of European and global scales. It also included practical workshops and a competition for audiovisual composers. Additionally, attendees have the opportunity to explore various gaming and musical technologies presented by our partners.
Showcase of Talented Composers
Composers Summit Prague serves as an unparalleled platform for fostering connections between highly skilled music composers, filmmakers, and key figures in the music industry. This integral ancillary event stands as a cornerstone of the Summit, providing an essential gateway for emerging composers to access the international landscape of audiovisual music. The showcase of audiovisual talents will unfold at the Empire Hall in the Slovanský Dům, featuring a live orchestra and the active participation of acclaimed composers, directors, and film producers. Notable attendees include the delegation and esteemed global stakeholders in the music industry. The selection of nominated composers is meticulously overseen by expert partners affiliated with Composers Summit Prague, with advisory insights from the Chairman of the Advisory Board, Elia Cmiral. Additionally, the event will host finalists from the composition competition held within the Summit, under the patronage of the OSA.
MUSEXPO partnership
Composers Summit Prague has been in partnership with the esteemed MUSEXPO in California since November 2023. This collaboration significantly broadens the communication and informational reach of both events. Delegations, including MUSEXPO founder Sat Bisla and representatives from major Hollywood production companies (e.g., Paramount, Universal, Netflix, EA Games), as well as influential figures in the music industry, will attend Composers Summit Prague.
They will establish connections and observe young talented composers. As part of the Summit, representatives from MUSEXPO will present their own program, discussing topics such as the music industry, the integration of music and composers into major films, and sharing specific insights on how to succeed and establish oneself in this competitive field.
